Plan reading

Snap the plans. Your grade book fills itself in.

Typing a whole job into a grade book takes hours. With Pro, you upload your blueprints, submittals and cut sheets and Pipe Buddy pulls out the structures, rims, inverts, pipe, finish parts, stations and services.

You still have the last word. Every number is shown to you to accept or fix before it's saved. If it can't read a number clearly, it leaves it blank instead of guessing.

Sanitary

Upload the cut sheet and Pro lays out the whole run: the starting manhole with its gravel grade and inverts, then every station with its invert and rod reading. Each house service sits right where it belongs, with its lot, rise, run and end-of-service elevation.

Stationing runs the whole job, the way it's on the plans. Enter your boot measurement and Pro works out the gravel grade for you.

Water

Know when to start dropping before you have to dig it back up.

Pro turns the plan's spring line into bottom of pipe at every station. When the grade falls half a foot or more between stations, it tells you to start dropping and about how much per stick.

A parts list at the top of the run shows every bend, tee, valve and hydrant, plus the mega lugs they need and the station each one goes at. Add photos to any fitting.

Before you buy.

What if I lose signal on the job?

Everything you enter is saved on your phone first, so a weak signal won't lose your work. It syncs to your other devices once you have signal again. Reading plans needs a connection.

How do I cancel?

If you subscribed in the app, cancel in your iPhone's Settings under your name, then Subscriptions. If you subscribed on this website, cancel from your account or email us. There are no contracts or cancellation fees.

What if the plan reading gets something wrong?

Plans can be hard to read, so Pipe Buddy always asks you to check its work. You can fix any value before saving. Always verify grades against the approved plans before you build.

Is my job data private?

Yes. Your jobs belong to you or your company. We don't sell data, show ads, or let your plans be used to train AI models. See our Privacy Policy.

Can my company pay for the whole crew?

Yes. The Company plan puts your whole company on one invoice, and you can see every crew's jobs. Tap Contact us on the Company plan and we'll set it up.

My job isn't on my other device

Make sure both devices are signed in to the same account and have signal. Changes sync on their own.

    Pipe Buddy ("we", "us") makes the Pipe Buddy app for pipe crews. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. In short: we collect what the app needs to work, we never sell it, and there are no ads.

    What we collect

    • Account information: your name, company name and email address, and your sign-in details if you use Sign in with Apple.
    • Your job data: everything you enter or upload into the app, such as job names, structures, elevations, inverts, run lengths, stations, services, notes, finish parts and reports.
    • Photos and files: photos you take or add in the app, and plans, submittals and cut sheets you upload to be read.
    • Feedback: anything you send us through the app or by email.
    • Purchase status: whether your subscription is active. Payments are handled by Apple or Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
    • Basic technical information: such as your device type, app version and error reports, used to keep the app working.

    Face ID: if you turn on Face ID sign-in, the check happens on your iPhone or iPad through Apple. Your face data never leaves your device and is never sent to us.

    How we use it

    • To run the app: save your jobs, sync them between your devices, and share them with people you invite.
    • To read the plans you upload and fill in the numbers for you to check.
    • To create your reports and the pictures you choose to send.
    • To handle your subscription, answer support requests and improve the app.

    We do not sell your information, use it for advertising, or share it with data brokers.

    Services we use

    Pipe Buddy uses a small number of trusted services to run. They only get what they need to do their job:

    • Supabase: stores your account, jobs and photos.
    • Cloudflare: runs our website and the server that handles plan reading.
    • Anthropic: the AI that reads plans, submittals and cut sheets you upload. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, the content you send is not used to train their models.
    • Apple and Stripe: handle subscriptions and payments.
    • Resend: sends emails from the app, such as invites and sign-in links.

    Sharing inside your company

    If you join a company account, the people your company gives access to (for example the office and your foreman) can see the jobs shared with them, including the numbers, photos and reports on those jobs.

    How long we keep it

    We keep your information while your account is open. You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings, Account, Delete account, or by emailing us. When you do, we delete your account and job data within 30 days, except for anything we're required to keep by law (such as payment records).

    Your choices

    • Change your name or company in Settings.
    • Ask us for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing support@pipebuddy.app.
    • Turn off Face ID sign-in at any time in Settings.

    Security

    Your data is sent over encrypted connections and stored with access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will let you know if something goes wrong that affects you.

    Children

    Pipe Buddy is a work tool and is not meant for children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.

    Changes to this policy

    If we make important changes, we'll update the date at the top and let you know in the app or by email.

    Terms of Use

    These terms are an agreement between you and Pipe Buddy ("we", "us") for using the Pipe Buddy app and website. By using Pipe Buddy, you agree to them. If you use it for a company, you're agreeing for that company too.

    Important: Pipe Buddy is a record-keeping and calculation aid. It does not replace the plans, a surveyor, an engineer or your own checks. Always verify grades, elevations and measurements against the approved plans and in the field before you build.

    Your account

    Keep your sign-in safe and your information accurate. You're responsible for what happens under your account. You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account.

    Your data

    The jobs, numbers, photos and files you put into Pipe Buddy belong to you (or your company). You give us permission to store and process them only to run the app for you, as described in our Privacy Policy.

    Plan reading and calculations

    Pipe Buddy can read plans, submittals and cut sheets you upload, and it can calculate things like rod readings, gravel grades, bottom of pipe and drop per stick. These results can be wrong if a document is unclear, a number is entered incorrectly, or the pipe chart doesn't match the pipe being used. You agree to check every number before relying on it. Pipe Buddy never changes the numbers you type.

    Subscriptions

    • Some features need a paid subscription. Prices are shown before you buy.
    • Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. Cancel any time: in your iPhone's Settings under your name, then Subscriptions, if you bought through the App Store, or from your account on our website if you bought there.
    • If we offer a free trial, it turns into a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel before it ends.
    • Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. For purchases on our website, contact us.
    • Company plans may have their own agreement, which takes priority over these terms where they differ.

    Fair use

    Don't misuse Pipe Buddy: no breaking or overloading it, accessing other people's data, reselling it, copying the app, or using it for anything illegal. Plan reading has reasonable daily limits to keep the service running for everyone.

    Changes and availability

    We're always improving Pipe Buddy, so features may change. We'll try to keep it running, but it may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance or reasons outside our control. Keep your own copies of anything critical, for example by saving reports.

    No warranty

    Pipe Buddy is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, including any warranty that it will be error-free or that results will be accurate, to the fullest extent allowed by law.

    Limit of liability

    To the fullest extent allowed by law, Pipe Buddy is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost profits, rework, delays, or construction errors arising from use of the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

    Ending your account

    You can stop using Pipe Buddy and delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.

    Governing law

    These terms are governed by the laws of the State of [STATE], United States.

    Changes to these terms

    If we make important changes, we'll update the date above and let you know in the app or by email. Continuing to use Pipe Buddy after that means you accept the updated terms.
